New England's Super Bowl chances

Q: Adam, how much do you think the loss of Dustin Keller will hurt the Miami Dolphins this season? They didn’t get much out of Michael Egnew last season and Charles Clay is a converted fullback. With the offensive line an issue for them, do you think Miami will still compete for a playoff spot? -- Jason (Texas)

A: The Dolphins lost Keller and Anthony Fasano, Jason. So unless Egnew or fourth-round pick Dion Sims develops, this group will not be as good and productive as it was last year. The Dolphins are likely to be on the lookout for other tight ends on the waiver wire, or a team that has a surplus of them on final cuts. I know everyone has made a big deal out of all the talent the Dolphins added, and they had some good pickups, starting with cornerback Brent Grimes. But they also lost a lot of talent. It hurt to lose Jake Long and Reggie Bush. There were some significant subtractions to go along with the additions. Miami could be an improved team, but as far as a playoff spot, it’s wait-and-see.

Q: Adam, the New England Patriots have had a rough offseason. What are your expectations for them this season? -- Randy (New Hampshire)
