Morning take: Ryan Clark praises Tom Brady

Here are the most interesting stories Saturday the AFC East:

  • After ripping New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady earlier in the week, Pittsburgh Steelers safety Ryan Clark praised the future Hall of Famer and said he is the toughest quarterback to defend.

Morning take: Clark stood by his “seeing ghosts” comment, but this was a classy move to let Brady know there is mutual respect. Still, look for Brady to be extra motivated when he faces Pittsburgh on Nov. 3.

  • New York Jets head coach Rex Ryan said he was "disappointed" by the efforts of 2012 first-round pick Quinton Coples in the weight room.

Morning take: Coples came to New York with concerns about his work ethic. Ryan is counting on Coples to make a successful jump from defensive end to outside linebacker as the Jets seek to upgrade their defense this season.

Morning take: Goodwin is one of three receivers expected to compete for a starting job in Buffalo. The Bills are going younger on offense and could be dynamic if young players come of age.

Morning take: As long as quarterback Ryan Tannehill makes the jump in Year 2, the offense should also improve. Additions like free-agent receiver Mike Wallace and tight end Dustin Keller should aid Miami's efforts to score points.
