The NCAA released its Academic Progress Rates for Division I on Tuesday, showing FBS football programs maintaining their average score through 2011-12.
The most recent four-year Division I APR is 974; for football, the average APR score remained 949. The APR provides a real-time look at a team's academic success each semester or quarter by tracking the academic progress of each student-athlete. The APR includes eligibility, retention and graduation in the calculation and provides a clear picture of the academic culture in each sport.
Rutgers won an NCAA public recognition award last week for finishing in the top 10 percent among all FBS schools with its multiyear APR score.
