Illinois commit Reggie Spearman (Chicago/Simeon) is a wanted man. Spearman committed to Illinois in August, but he's become a hot commodity late in the recruiting process. Two Big Ten programs have a legit shot to flip the three-star linebacker.
"If an official visit does take place one of the next two weekends, it appears Purdue has the best shot to make that happen," Josh Helmholdt of Rivals.com wrote. "Spearman is considering visiting West Lafayette officially with his teammate, offensive tackle Kendall Moore."
Purdue's odds to flip Spearman are dependent on whether he actually visits the Boilermakers. A visit to West Lafayette may not happen. He is set to visit Iowa, and the Hawkeyes could be in the driver's seat as a result:
"However, the Hawkeyes appear in the best position to flip Spearman, who committed to Illinois in August. Syracuse offered Spearman on Tuesday, and while he is also considering Indiana and Purdue, Spearman will spend this coming weekend back in Iowa City on his own dime. Spearman officially visited Iowa in November for an official visit, and what could be his last visit before signing day will go to Iowa."
