Oregon has generally been considered a strong closer the last two recruiting classes. The Ducks now recruit on a national level, but the team's winning ways haven't parlayed into many commitments early in the recruiting process. Thus, some of the team's top targets get an opportunity to weigh all of their options fully before finally choosing Oregon or another school.
An ESPN Watch List safety from the Northwest has to be atop Oregon's list of targets. Bishard Baker (Bellevue, Wash./Bellevue) could step on campus in Eugene help the Ducks at multiple positions. He's currently considered a safety recruit, but he'd likely play on the offensive side of the football for Oregon:
Brandon P. Oliver
"Baker has a dozen offers after one came in from the Ducks last week. Baker has offers from nine Pac-12 programs, Boise State, Notre Dame and Purdue. Baker is the perfect fit for Oregon on either side of the ball, and he knows it. He may not wind up in Eugene, but Baker has a lot of interest in the Ducks and landing the best weapon in the Northwest would be a great get for Helfrich."
