Senior quarterback David Cornwell was presented his honorary game jersey during the American Family Insurance Selection Tour for the 2014 Under Armour All-America Game at Norman North High School in Norman, Okla., Thursday.
Cornwell, an Alabama commitment, is one of 90 players selected to compete in the seventh-annual Under Armour All-America Game presented by American Family Insurance, a nationally televised competition spotlighting the country’s top high school seniors. The 2014 Under Armour All-America Game is set for 4 p.m. ET Jan. 2 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla., and will be televised on ESPN.
“I would like to thank my family, the coaching staff and the players at Norman North,” Cornwell said. “This wouldn’t be available without y’all, and I would like thank Under Armour and American Family Insurance,”
For the future Crimson Tide signal-caller, it’s the prestige of the Under Armour All-America Game that was the deciding factor.
“It’s a great honor. I’m blessed to play in this game, and am really looking forward to the speed of this game and the legacy that comes with it,” he said. “It’s a prestigious game, a great opportunity and I’m looking forward to playing with great players.”
The 6-foot-5, 241-pound Cornwell is the No. 32 ranked prospect overall, and the No. 2 pocket passer in the class. He selected Alabama over offers from Auburn, Tennessee, Miami (FL), Oklahoma State, Notre Dame and others.
