BCS: SEC lands three in the top five

Baylor and Oregon's losses are the SEC's gain.

Auburn was able to rest at home on a bye and jump up two spots to No. 4 in the latest BCS standings. Missouri, meanwhile, jumped up to No. 5 with a win over Ole Miss, putting a total of three SEC teams in the top five.

Alabama continues to be the clear No. 1 in the standings, followed by Florida State and Ohio State. But the Crimson Tide's top billing will be put to the test this coming weekend.

The Iron Bowl will be a high-stakes battle for rivals Alabama and Auburn. The winner will represent the West in the SEC Championship Game and become the favorite to reach the VIZIO BCS National Championship Game in Pasadena, Calif.

Alabama, Auburn and Missouri are joined in the top 10 by South Carolina (10). Missouri controls its own destiny in the East. A win against Texas A&M would punch the Tigers' ticket to Atlanta for the SEC Championship Game. A loss would give the Gamecocks the nod instead.

Texas A&M, by virtue of its loss at LSU, fell nine spots to No. 21. LSU moved up five rungs to No. 17 with its win.

The only SEC team to drop out of the top 25 was Ole Miss, which lost to Missouri at home, 24-10, and fell to 7-4 overall.
