The end of the watch list season came to a close Friday as University of Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron and center Barrett Jones were named to the Walter Camp Award watch list.

Jones and McCarron were two of 50 players nominated for the award handed out annually to college football's top overall player. Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck took home the honor last year.

Jones, the defending Outland Trophy Award winner, has been nominated for nearly every conceivable award an offensive lineman is capable of winning. He's been nominated for the Rimington Award for the nation's best center, the Outland Trophy for the nation's best interior lineman and the Lombardi Award for the nation's best lineman. He was also named the first-team offense for the 2012 Southeastern Conference pre-season Coaches All-SEC Team.

McCarron, who threw for 2,634 yards and 16 touchdowns in his first year starting at quarterback last season, has been nominated for Maxwell Award for the country's most outstanding player and the Manning and Davey O'Brien Awards for the country's best quarterback.
