Marcell Harris sets decision date

ORLANDO, Fla. -- ESPN 150 safety Marcell Harris (Orlando, Fla./Dr. Phillips) has set his college decision date for Nov. 16.

The 6-foot-1, 207-pound safety will chose between Florida, Florida State, Oklahoma and Texas. Harris hyperexented his knee in Dr. Phillips game last Thursday. The injury isn't severe and will only keep him out a few weeks, but Harris said it was enough for him to rethink his recruiting strategy.

"I took four official visits to Texas, Oklahoma, Florida State and Florida," Harris said. "I don't think there will be a fifth one with everything that's going on. My recruiting has been going pretty good. I've been talking with my coaches almost everyday. I think I'll have my decision by Nov. 16."

Florida was the last visit Harris took and the four-star safety said he has already seen pretty much everything Florida has to offer.

"It went good," Harris said. "I got caught up on some things. The game was crazy. They were like, 'What else do we have to show you?' It's like that for every school. I still look at them the same as I do other schools. I just got caught up on some things and met some more people that I haven't met."

With a decision date set, Harris still claims to have no leader.

"I don't have a leader," Harris said. "But the coaches I have been talking to they know how I feel about the situation that I'm in and what's going on and what's going to come."

Harris doesn't know the details of his announcement, but he is certain he will not announce his decision like Florida defensive back commit Vernon Hargreaves III, who declared his intention to attend Florida on Twitter.

"I know I probably won't announce like Vernon Hargreaves," Harris said with a laugh, "because I don't have a Twitter."
