UF weekend preview: Time for juniors

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- The Florida Gators hosted a handful of top recruits last weekend. This weekend is another story.

Last weekend, the Gators were able to secure two 2012 commitments (Alex McCalister and Bryan Cox Jr.) and one 2013 recruit (Adam Lane). This weekend, no 2012 prospects are expected to visit, but a few 2013 prospects are expected to be in Gainesville.

Jacksonville (Fla.) First Coast linebacker Daniel McMillian is set to visit. Tallahassee (Fla.) Lincoln linebacker James Hearns and wide receiver teammates Taj Williams and Reggie Davis will also be making the trip to UF. Former Florida wide receiver Jacquez Green is the offensive coordinator at Lincoln. Green's nephew, J.J. Green from Kingsland (Ga.) Camden County, is expected to drive down as well.

Seffner (Fla.) Armwood wide receiver Alvin Bailey and Crescent City (Fla.) Crescent City HS defensive tackle Caleb Brantley will also be at Florida. Brantley recently picked up a Florida offer.

Several 2013 prospects will miss this weekend because they will be taking the SAT test. Florida will have its big junior day on Feb. 18, and several of the top juniors in the southeast are expected to attend.
