GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Five-star Florida safety commit Nick Washington (Jacksonville, Fla./Trinity Christian) visited UF on Friday with good friend and five-star wide receiver prospect Ahmad Fulwood (Jacksonville, Fla./Bishop Kenny).
Washington has seen Florida's campus several times, but this was a chance for him to spend more time with the coaching staff. Ditto for Fulwood and Fulwood's mother Terri Fulwood.
"It was good, it was pretty much the same as my junior day," Washington said. "I was with Ahmad for most of the stuff like touring the school, but then I went with coach [Will] Muschamp and coach T-Rob [Travaris Robinson] for a little while."
Washington, said the Florida coaches are intrigued with Washington's versatility as a defensive back.
"We talked about the possibility of me playing corner, safety or nickel and getting the opportunity to play early on," he said.
As for Fulwood, Washington said the Florida coaches spent as much time talking to Terri as they did with Ahmad. Washington said that Fulwood's mom came away impressed with what she saw from the Florida program.
"I thought it went really well with him," Washington said. "On the way home she was asking Ahmad questions like how he liked it, and she said she left the visit impressed with Florida, impressed with the school and everything they've got going on."
Fulwood is also considering schools like Alabama, Clemson, USC and Georgia.
In a recent update, Fulwood mentions he would like to leave the state to play college football. But Washington thinks that is no longer set in stone.
"In my opinion, I think he's pretty high on Florida," he said, "but he likes some other schools, too."
