Gators targeting quality DL for 2013

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- After signing eight players for the 2012 class who are either defensive tackles, defensive ends or play the hybrid defensive end/outside linebacker buck position, the Gators will be very selective in who they go after for the 2013 class.

Here is a closer look at some of the top defensive linemen Florida is targeting for 2013:

Committed: Caleb Brantley (Crescent City, Fla./Crescent City)

Targets: Montravius Adams (Vienna, Ga./Dooly Co.) , Darius Latham (Indianapolis/North Central), Michael Hill (Pendleton, S.C./Pendleton), Keith Bryant (Delray Beach, Fla./Atlantic Community -- Miami commit), Kelsey Griffin (Hoschton, Ga./Mill Creek), Greg Gilmore (Hope Mills, N.C./South View), Terry Bell (Lakeland, Fla./East Mississippi CC), Maquedius Bain (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla./University School -- FSU commit)

Overview: Adams is probably the top remaining defensive tackle prospect on Florida's board. The talented player from Vienna (Ga.) visited Florida recently and enjoyed his time in Gainesville. Clemson, Georgia and USC are also hot after Adams, and his recruitment should go on a long time. Bell, a former Florida State signee, was with 2012 Florida defensive tackle signee Damien Jacobs at East Mississippi Community College last year. The Gators are starting to show interest in the 6-foot-6, 315-pound tackle. Florida's recent success in North Carolina should only help with Gilmore, from Hope Mills. Gilmore says he speaks with the Florida coaches every few days.
