Q&A: Florida DT signee Jafar Mann

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Over the next few weeks GatorNation will have a series of Q&As with Florida's incoming freshmen. Next up is Stone Mountain (Ga.) Stephenson defensive tackle Jafar Mann, who will enroll at Florida for Summer B in June.

GN: What number will you wear next season?

Mann: When I went down there for my official visit, they gave me my old high school number -- 55. But I want a single digit number at Florida. A lot of them are taken, so maybe a number like 11 or 12.

GN: Who are you planning to room with when you get to Florida?

Mann: I'd like to room with someone from my home state like Quinteze [Williams], but it really doesn't matter I guess.

GN: What kind of workout or training program are you doing to prepare?

Mann: I've just been doing the workout they gave us after signing day. I run like three days a week and workout three days a week. I'm about 300 pounds right now, which is kind of where I want to be. I just want to be in shape when I get there.

GN: What are you looking forward to the most when you get to Florida?

Mann: I'm looking forward to just getting my work done. Both on and off the field and staying focused.

GN: What are your expectations as a freshman at Florida?

Mann: I just want to get on the field. My goal is not to redshirt. I'm working hard so I can play.

GN: Tell Florida fans something about you that most people don't know.

Mann: I play the video game Call of Duty all the time. That's probably what I do the most in my free time.
