Florida visitor preview, Agholor tripping

UPDATE: It appears four-star wide receiver prospect Nelson Agholor, one of Florida's top targets, has changed his mind and is visiting UF after all.

Late Friday afternoon, Agholor tweeted, "Headed to uf" and later followed up with a tweet about having dinner at coach Will Muschamp's house.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- With Charlie Weis suddenly leaving Florida to take the head coaching position at Kansas, a big wrench was thrown in to Florida’s weekend visitor plans.

Four-star athlete Nelson Agholor (6-1/185, Tampa, Fla./Berkeley Prep) is one of the top offensive prospects left on Florida’s board. But with Weis leaving, Agholor has decided to cancel his visit this weekend. It’s unclear if he will reschedule, but the loss of Weis appears to have had an affect on Agholor.

Agholor’s high school teammate and good friend Schyler Miles (6-foot-2, 215-pounds), who was offered a scholarship by Florida on Wednesday, will be visiting Notre Dame this weekend. The Irish are also high on Agholor's list.

Two defensive prospects now headline the list of visitors for this weekend. Five-star linebacker Josh Harvey-Clemons (6-5/205, Valdosta, Ga./Lowndes) and four-star defensive end Darius Hamilton (6-3/245, Ramsey, N.J./Don Bosco). Hamilton will be visiting with his dad, Keith Marshall, a former 13-year NFL veteran.

Committed wide receiver Latroy Pittman (6-1/195, Citra, Fla./North Marion) said on Thursday night he will use his official visit this weekend to find out more about the coaching changes at Florida.

It’s no coincidence Pittman and safety commit Marcus Maye (6-1/195, Melbourne, Fla./Holy Trinity) scheduled their visits to UF this weekend. They are good friends with Agholor and had hope to use this visit to convince Agholor to join them.

Tight end Kent Taylor (6-5/215, Land O’Lakes, Fla./Land O’Lakes), who cited Weis a prime reason he committed to UF, will also be taking his official visit this weekend.

Florida commits Willie Bailey, DB, (6-2/170, Hallandale, Fla./Hallandale), Jessamen Dunker, OL, (6-6/315, Boynton Beach, Fla./Boynton Beach) and Austin Hardin, K, (5-11/200, Atlanta/Marist) are also expected to visit.

Florida linebacker commit Antonio Morrison (6-3/215, Bolingbrooke, Ill./Bolingbrook HS) will make the trip down from Illinois. Defensive tackle commits Dante Phillips (6-6/275, Venice, Fla./Venice and Quinteze Williams (6-4/295, Tyrone, Ga./Sandy Creek) round out the list of expected visitors.

How much impact will the Weis announcement have on visitors this weekend? Only three of the visitors this weekend are offensive prospects, but this is a chance for Florida to play damage control and reassure Dunker, Taylor and Pittman that everything will be OK on the offensive side of the ball.
