RB Alex Collins has two visits remaining

FULLERTON, Calif. -- Running back Alex Collins (Plantation, Fla./South Plantation) has plenty of options when it comes to a future school, which isn’t exactly making the recruiting process an easy one for the 5-foot-11, 195-pound ESPN 150 prospect.

Arkansas, Florida, Florida State, Miami, Tennessee and Wisconsin are the six schools remaining for Collins, and the senior said all six are on equal footing at this point.

“A lot of people wonder what is my leading school, but there is no leader. I'm neutral toward each school," Collins said. "I want to take my last two official visits and then make my decision after that."

Collins already took official visits to Wisconsin, Florida State and Florida. It's no often that you take see the same head coach on two separate visits, but that's what Collins will do later this month, as he will take a visit to Miami on Jan. 18 and then Arkansas on Jan. 25. Razorbacks head coach Bret Bielema recruited Collins while he was at Wisconsin and will do the same now that he is at Arkansas.

"Arkansas is another opportunity to see if I can see myself playing there," Collins said. "I want to keep my options open and I would like to see what they have to offer."

Collins doesn't know when he will make his decision and he added that it could come immediately on the heels of his fifth visit or it could happen on signing day. The only thing he's sure of is the process he used to get to this point with recruiting isn't going to help him through the finish line.

"I started with a checklist, looking to see if each school had the major I wanted, if it was close to home, the size of the program, the type of offense they run, my relationship with the coaches," Collins said. "I made a list and realized each school offers something different. In making my list, I saw one school would have something and another school didn't, but that school would have something good that was bad somewhere else. So it's hard to go by a list. I think, ultimately where I end up, is where I feel most comfortable and the place where I feel in my heart that I can be most successful in life. That's where I'll end up going."
