GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Top 2014 signal-caller Will Grier (Davidson, N.C./Davidson Day) played a game on Friday night, then drove in an RV with his family down to Gainesville to watch Florida take on LSU in the Swamp. The 6-foot-3, 185-pound quarterback said he loved what he saw from the Gators on Saturday.
"I had a great trip to Florida," Grier said. "The game was amazing and the stadium was extremely loud. I wanted to get dressed out and play."
Despite Florida's offensive struggles early on in the game, Grier says he could see himself playing for the Gators.
"They did what they needed to do to win," Grier said. "LSU has one of the best defenses in college football and they mixed up formations and packages and moved the ball up and down the field. I also feel like their offense is one I could thrive in given what I bring to the table."
While on his unofficial visit, Grier had a chance to tour the campus and also spend some time with the Florida coaches.
"I stayed the night in my RV and went on a campus tour early [Sunday] morning -- the campus is beautiful," he said. "I spoke with coach [Will] Muschamp and coach [Brent] Pease after the game Saturday and we are continuing to build a relationship. They were excited to get me down there for a game. Overall it was a great trip."
Grier, who has offers from NC State, Tennessee, North Carolina, East Carolina and Wake Forest, says he won't name any leaders until after his season is over. The ESPN Watch List QB only has one other visit planned to UNC on Oct. 27 when they take on NC State.
