C.J. Worton (Homestead, Fla./South Dade) didn't wait long.
Having been offered just after the July session of the Jimbo Fisher Camp, the 2014 wide receiver jumped on opportunity to join Florida State's class.
"They said the same thing that they have been saying the whole time, that they are excited to have me," Worton said of the coaches reaction.
"They were very excited."
Worton was obviously happy, too.
"Oh man, it is a done deal pretty much," he said. "It feels very good to already be part of the family. They told me, 'Welcome to the family.' It just feels great.
"Coach Fisher was telling me that he likes me as a slot receiver, but I keep growing. Just yesterday at my physical, I was 6-1 and a half and 182 pounds. I keep on growing and growing. He says that he likes me at slot, outside and he could even see me playing defense."
Having a close friend in Jake McCrary committed already didn't hurt the Seminoles either. Originally planning on waiting for a while to make his decision, Worton decided Sunday was the day.
"It was a good experience right there," he said. "I have been talking to Jake a lot and a lot of my teammates. It feels good to have it off my back. It was just at that point."
Worton is the Seminoles' fifth commitment for the class of 2014.
