Ohio State picked up good news in the class of 2014 when some of the bigger names at running back trimmed their list to three and included Ohio State.
Scott has offers from all three of his top choices and has narrowed things down to Florida State, Ohio State and South Carolina.
He’s already seen South Carolina in action and is planning on seeing Florida State and Ohio State, but hasn’t firmed up a date. There is no favorite at this time.
Here’s what Scott had to say about his choices.
Florida State: “I just like the tradition they have there. I love how much speed they have and how fast they play.”
Ohio State: “I like how Urban Meyer uses his athletes on the field. I like how he gets all his best athletes on the field and how he’d use me.”
South Carolina: “I just like the running backs they’ve had come through there, especially the running back they have now. Marcus Lattimore is one of my favorite running backs. I just like the atmosphere there.”
Horton doesn’t have offers from his choices -- Michigan State, Ohio State and Wisconsin -- but thinks offers are close. The Spartans are his favorite and are followed by the Buckeyes and Badgers.
Here’s what Horton had to say about his choices:
Michigan State: “They like big backs and I like the style offense they run. They’ve got a great coach that almost led them to a Big Ten championship last year and they’ve been in consecutive bowl games.”
Ohio State: “It’s traditional and I’m an Ohio kid. Urban Meyer is a great coach and I love their style of offense. Like I said, I’m from Ohio, so that gives them a big boost, too.”
Wisconsin: “They like big backs, too and are traditionally strong. The atmosphere there is amazing. They have a great campus and a great coach. They won a Big Ten championship last year.”
He’s seen Ohio State and wants to see the Buckeyes again. He’s also scheduled a trip to Michigan State in November and plans to catch Wisconsin after his season his over.
