Watch List RB James talks recruiting

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- ESPN Watch List running back Tony James (Gainesville, Fla./Gainesville) missed Gainesville's game against cross-town rival Buchholz High School on Friday with a mild concussion. Despite missing the game, the 2014 prospect did talk about the latest in his recruitment.

The 5-foot-11, 165-pound running back, who has offers from Florida, Miami, Ohio State, UCLA, Georgia Tech and most recently Florida State, visited Florida for its game against LSU last weekend. James said he was impressed with what he saw from the Gators.

"It was a very intense game, it was a close game," James said. "The second half, Florida came out and got their swag going on and got two touchdowns back-to-back with Mike Gillislee and the defense shut them down."

Gillislee rushed for 146 yards and two touchdowns on 34 carries. James took notice of the amount of touches Gillislee had.

"It was a great thing to see actually," James said. "It tells me that if I go to Florida I'm going to get lots of carries, lots of playing time and lots of chances to get the ball in open spaces and do what I do."

James, who says Florida, Miami and FSU are recruiting him the hardest, said that he was excited when he received his FSU offer.

"It means a lot actually," James said. "Being that Florida is right here and Tallahassee is right there, it's a big rivalry. I just figured FSU would jump on board eventually. But it's a big school and they are doing well so it was a big offer."

As for his future plans, James said he will likely attend games at Miami, FSU and will probably attend the Florida - South Carolina game on Oct. 20. James said he has no timeframe on a decision but will likely wait until his senior year to make a decision.

James will be back in action for Gainesville's game next Friday against Ocala (Fla.) Vanguard.
