Brandon Powell (Deerfield Beach, Fla./Deerfield Beach) made the most of his camp experience last week at the Jimbo Fisher Camp in Tallahassee, Fla.
The 2014 cornerback prospect starred in 1-on-1 and 7-on-7 drills breaking up passes and covering receivers. The Seminoles' coaching staff thought he did well, too.
"I felt like I did good," said Powell. "I felt like I really impressed the coaches by the way they were talking to me.
"Coach Jimbo [Fisher] said he wants to evaluate my film and really look at it because they saw me in the 7-on-7 last month. They just really want to look over my film before they offer me."
Powell features on both sides of the ball for his high school. At the next level, though, it looks like cornerback could be his home.
"Jimbo said he really likes me on defense because I am physical, but I play both ways," he said. "I play corner on defense, receiver on offense."
The rising junior has just an offer from Massachusetts for the time being, but will head to Florida this weekend for Friday Night Lights in Gainesville.
Florida State has been one of Powell's favorite schools growing up, though an offer wouldn't suddenly end his recruitment.
"That's been my favorite school, so if I get an offer, that'd be great," he said of the Seminoles. "I will still keep my options open because I am only going to be a junior. I want to take all my visits."
Because Powell is a tremendous student, he will be sure to check out the school's academic features before making any kind of decision.
"Academics are first because I have a 4.1 GPA," said Powell. "I want to study criminal justice or business management."
