Know your future Dawgs: Mark Beard

With the arrival of the New Year, the University of Georgia will soon welcome the arrival of three very talented athletes to the football team. DawgNation caught up with one of them, juco offensive lineman Mark Beard (Coffeyville, Kan/Coffeyville), to give us one last interview before he heads to Athens.

What impressed you the most during your visit to Georgia?

Mark Beard: “The people. There are some really great people in Athens.”

Other than UGA where did you have the best experience during your visits?

MB: “Mississippi State”

What school recruited you the hardest overall?

MB: “Gotta be Mississippi State. They were there in the beginning.”

What school did you grow up rooting for?

MB: “I grew up going for Auburn.”

Who was your favorite player?

MB: “Alabama left tackle Andre Smith.”

What is your favorite TV show/movie of all time?

MB: “My favorite television show was Martin. My favorite move of all time is Lion.”

What is something interesting about you that most people do not know?

MB: “People think I am mean until they get to know me.”

If you are not playing football, what would you be doing?

MB: “Trying to get to know a girl.”

What is your goal for your time at UGA?

MB: “I want to be a starter and make an All-American team.”

What do you think will be the toughest part of being at UGA?

MB: “Probably getting used to the workouts and learning the plays but thankfully I do have a spring semester to get acclimated.”
