Rising Seniors Junior Bowl standouts

The Rising Seniors Junior Bowl took place last Friday at Grady Stadium in Atlanta, with 90 of the top juniors in Georgia going head to head for bragging rights in the Peach State. There was no shortage of talent in the star-studded event, and although there will likely be more than 50 participants signing with FBS programs, here are 10 standouts Bulldog fans will want to watch over the next few months.

East Squad

DT Kelsey Griffin (Hoschton/Mill Creek); 6-foot-2, 285 pounds

Griffin had possibly the most consistent performance during the week, and in the game, where he had six tackles, including two for loss. Several times he caused issues against offensive linemen that are just not at the same stage in their physical development. His ability to shoot his hands and explode downfield might remind some of former Stephenson standout Mike Thornton.

ATH Alvin Kamara (Norcross/Norcross); 5-9, 195

While listed as a running back, Kamara’s stock will surely soar after his junior bowl performance showcased his ability to line up in the slot and catch passes. Kamara actually led all receivers with eight catches for 115 yards in the game. Those doubting his size should see him in person, as Kamara is built well and is extremely explosive.
