Results: Georgia swept a season-opening series against Presbyterian, winning 6-1 Friday, 5-4 Saturday and 11-0 Sunday.

Georgia record: 3-0.

Highlight of the week: Brett DeLoach provided the Bulldogs’ play of the week, delivering a pinch-hit, two-run double with two outs in the ninth inning against Presbyterian on Saturday. The Bulldogs trailed 4-3 and DeLoach was down in the count 0-1 before he crushed a line drive into left-center to score Levi Hyams and Kyle Farmer with the game-winning runs.

Top offensive performer: Curt Powell. Georgia’s third baseman batted .667 (6-for-9) in the series, scoring four runs and driving in two. He doubled twice and tripled once.

Top pitching performer: Taylor Hicks. The redshirt freshman who pitched at nearby North Oconee High School was a winner in his first collegiate appearance. Hicks started Sunday’s game and delivered four shutout innings, allowing two hits, striking out one and walking one.
