Deas returns to UGA football team

ATHENS, Ga. -- Marc Deas' time away from the Georgia football team lasted less than two weeks.

On March 30, the redshirt sophomore safety informed coach Mark Richt of his plans to transfer. But on Tuesday, Deas announced on his Twitter page that he plans to remain a Bulldog.

"I'm down for the cause. Feels good to [be back with] the boys," Deas tweeted.

Georgia confirmed afterward that Deas will stay, noting in a media release that he "has had a change of heart and will be remaining with the Bulldogs."

Deas appeared in all 14 games in 2011 and made three tackles. He will add another body to the depth-depleted group of players at safety, which is expected to be without All-America senior Bacarri Rambo at the start of the season while he serves a suspension.
