UGA NFL draft primer

With an hour to go until the NFL draft begins, Georgia figures to have only one player hear his name called tonight during the first round.

Almost every top draft analyst has former Bulldogs offensive lineman Cordy Glenn going in the first round, typically somewhere in the mid to late first round.

However, Georgia figures to have several more players drafted between the second and seventh rounds on Friday and Saturday -- with cornerback Brandon Boykin, tight end Orson Charles and center Ben Jones figuring to be the next Bulldogs off the board.

Before we get into the experts' breakdowns, check out this handy dandy chart that NFL Network compiled of players drafted by college. You'll see that Georgia ranks among the nation's top programs at producing NFL talent by almost every measure over the last 20 years.

Here's a rundown of how several draft experts rank the Georgia players and where they projected them to go in mock drafts:

* ESPN's Mel Kiper and Todd McShay both rank Glenn on their lists of top prospects. Kiper has Glenn at No. 14 on his "Big Board" and McShay has Glenn at No. 25 on his top 32 prospects.

* NFL Network's Mike Mayock ranks four Bulldogs in his top 100: Glenn (No. 25), Boykin (61), Jones (85) and Charles (92).

* NFL Network's Gil Brandt ranks three Georgia players on his top 100-plus: Glenn (29), Boykin (51), Charles (64.)

* Mock drafts: Most draft experts' mock drafts project just one round. but all the big ones have Glenn going in that first round:

Kiper: Glenn 21st to Cincinnati

McShay/Scouts Inc.: Glenn 22nd to Cleveland
