Ja'Quay Williams appears solid to Auburn

Auburn Tigers commitment Ja’Quay Williams (Tyrone, Ga./Sandy Creek) took an official visit to Georgia over the weekend. Did this super receiver from the Peach State see enough to change his commitment from Auburn to Georgia?

“I know Ja’Quay told me the visit went really good to Georgia,” Sandy Creek coach Chip Walker said today. “But nothing has changed and Ja’Quay showed up with all his Auburn gear on today.”

Earlier today Auburn head coach Gene Chizik showed up to the school and, according to Walker, it appears all but wrapped up for the Tigers and this four-star recruit.

“Everything went really good with Coach Chizik and I think he’s pretty done and ready to go to Auburn,” Walker said. “In my opinion, I don’t think he will make his trip to Florida this weekend. I know Coach Chizik will come back tonight and make an in-home visit.”

Georgia is also scheduled to make an in-home visit with Williams sometime this week, but Walker did not know which day. And last week Williams did schedule an official visit for this weekend with the Gators, but that appears to be a long shot at this point.

Williams, 6-foot-3 and 195 pounds, is the nation’s No. 26 receiver and the No. 15 overall prospect from the state of Georgia.
