Top five for Watch List CB Langley

Although he was already considered one of the top cornerbacks in the Southeast, Brendan Langley (Marietta, Ga./Kell) did not hesitate to show up at the Atlanta Nike Combine Sunday ready to compete. The 6-foot-1, 181-pound defensive back ran an electronic 4.61 40-yard dash, a 4.61 shuttle, a 36.3-inch vertical jump, and threw the power ball 36 feet -- for an impressive 103.71 SPARQ rating. Langley was not disappointed with his performance, but he was not quite satisfied either.

"I feel that I did above average, but I think it could go up," Langley said.

With all nine of his current offers coming from the SEC, chances are he will be playing his football in the Southeastern Conference next year. At the moment, Langley says Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and Vanderbilt are standing out, but a few programs are trying to make a push for the ESPNU 150 Watch List cornerback.

"As of now I probably talk to Coach [Kirby] Smart at Alabama, Coach [Travaris] Robinson at Florida and Coach [Derrick] Ansley from Tennessee the most," Langley said. "We do not really talk about playing time. We just have genuine conversations that I feel are more important. I probably feel like I would play the most at Georgia. They want to use me on offense, defense and special teams like they did with Brandon Boykin, but like I said, playing time is not that important, because I feel my play will get me on the field."

Langley states his decision could be largely based on which coaches make him feel the most important, and he hopes to spend more time with several coaching staffs very soon.

"I hope to visit Tennessee this weekend, Florida the first week of April, and I hope to finish up my visits by taking in spring practices at Alabama and Georgia," Langley said. "My plan is to decide at the end of the summer before my senior season starts."
