SEC Week 4 bowl projections: Alabama looking like only safe choice

Alabama seems like the only safe pick from the SEC these days.

The Crimson Tide are playing like a sure-fire playoff team, so keeping Nick Saban’s club there is an easy decision in this week’s bowl projections. Everything else is a total crapshoot, including our picks of 2-2 LSU, Auburn and Missouri as bowl participants.

More than half the teams in the SEC (eight teams, actually) own 2-2 records at this point. We’re giving the benefit of the doubt to a few of them, but let’s be clear: Most teams in the conference have been highly inconsistent to date.

We’re calling for 10 SEC teams to reach the postseason, though only a few of them look like teams that deserve to be listed among the nation’s top-tier programs in 2016.

Here’s a look at our latest bowl projections following Week 4:

College Football Playoff at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl: Alabama

Allstate Sugar Bowl: Texas A&M

Outback Bowl: Florida

TaxSlayer Bowl: Arkansas
