Koger to East-West Shrine Game

Michigan already had two players invited to the Senior Bowl in defensive tackle Mike Martin and center David Molk.

Now, it'll at least add a third player to a postseason All-Star game. Tight end Kevin Koger said Sunday he has been invited to the East-West Shrine Game on Jan. 21 in St. Petersburg, Fla. He said, though, he hasn't made a decision whether he'll play.

"I really can't decide right now. I haven't even thought about an agent or all that," Koger said. "We're not allowed to. So I'll have more for you after the fourth."

In addition, defensive lineman Ryan Van Bergen said he has received letters from another All-Star game, the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl in Carson, Calif., on Jan. 21. He also said he was waiting to hear from the NFL Combine.

"I've been told good things about NFL prospects so I want to improve my draft status as much as I can," Van Bergen said. "But I'm trying to ignore all that. I consider it a distraction right now and want to be with my teammates and stuff but, yeah, I want to improve where I can be."

Meanwhile, Martin told ESPN.com last month that he has been invited to the NFL Combine, which takes place from Feb. 22-28 in Indianapolis.
