3-pointers: Indiana 73, Michigan 71

It was a place Michigan has rarely won in -- just twice since 1991 -- but the Wolverines nearly pulled off a win in Assembly Hall on Thursday night.

Nearly being the key word.

No. 13 Michigan fell behind early, came back, but never took the lead against Indiana, eventually falling 73-71 to the No. 12 Hoosiers.

For too long against the Hoosiers (14-1, 2-1 Big Ten), Michigan (12-3, 2-1) did not look in sync. The Wolverines struggled offensively in the first half, committing seven of their 12 turnovers and could have been blown out if not for a late spurt to cut Indiana's lead to seven, 39-32.

The second half went better for Michigan, as it shot 50 percent from the field and outscored IU, 39-34. But it wasn’t enough in a game where Wolverines coach John Beilein was extremely fiery on the sidelines -- a marked change from his usual calm demeanor.
