Nebraska has a big Saturday ahead with an important conference game with Michigan State in Lincoln, Neb. The day started off with a bang as the Cornhuskers picked up a commitment, according to multiple reports.
Junior college wide receiver Robert Lockhart (Delray Beach, Fla./Hinds Community College) committed to Nebraska. Lockhart was originally committed to Miami out of high school.
He is commit No. 14 overall in the 2014 class, and the second wide receiver commit, joining Monte Harrison (Lee’s Summit, Mo./Lee’s Summit West).
Lockhart had been leaning toward Nebraska for some time, and he visited Lincoln for the Northwestern game this season.
The wide receivers already on the Nebraska roster are still relatively young, and even the bigger contributors such as Kenny Bell still have another season left to play. This pickup gives the Huskers a little more depth at a more rapid rate, though as Lockhart already has some college experience.
The 6-foot, 190-pound Lockhart will have three years to play two seasons.
