With nearly 20 offers, ESPN 150 wide receiver Torii Hunter Jr. (Prosper, Texas/Prosper) definitely has his choice of college. Gearing up to be a college receiver has been the tougher obstacle.
Much like his famous father, Hunter is a standout baseball player and has been playing summer-league baseball. His trip to The Opening has allowed him to get back into football mode, and it also has allowed him to learn more about his game.
"It's great just to be able to play with the best talent in the nation," Hunter said. "You get to use this as a measuring stick. I'm looking at guys like Ricky Seals-Jones as role models. You get to take bits and pieces of their game and make your game better."
Hunter said he hopes to balance both football and baseball in college. He is preparing to take visits at the end of July, once his baseball season winds down.
A four-star athlete, Hunter has a couple of targeted schools he'd like to visit, including Nebraska, Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State.
