Every weekday morning, a member of the SoonerNation gives his take on three things happening in the Sooner sports world.
1. Sooners quarterback commit Cody Thomas (Colleyville, Texas/Heritage) dropped out of the ESPN 150 after his performance at the Elite 11 finals over the weekend. Thomas, who is now a three-star prospect on ESPN.com, struggled with consistency, according to RecruitingNation Recruiting Director Tom Luginbill. Read more of Luginbill's evaluation on Thomas' weekend here.
2. With the quiet period in effect and the season approaching, it's been a quiet month for the Sooners in recruiting. But that changes tomorrow when OU will host junior college defensive tackle Toby Johnson (Hutchinson, Kan./Hutchinson CC) on an unofficial visit. Johnson, who has offers from Georgia, Arkansas and Nebraska, among others, could be an instant rotation-filler for the Sooners in 2013. OU will lose its top three tackles to graduation after this season.
3. Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops and senior quarterback Landry Jones will be in Bristol, Conn., on Thursday to take part in the ESPN car wash, going on multiple ESPN TV programs and digital platforms. They're expected to go on SportsCenter, College Football Live and other TV shows, and also participate in an ESPN.com chat. I'm hoping to get a full schedule before it starts. Anyways, check back tomorrow for tons of exclusive content.
