Casey Walker expected to play vs. K-State

After two weeks away from the team, senior defensive tackle Casey Walker return to practice Monday afternoon. Walker was dealing with a personal issue according to coach Bob Stoops, but met with Stoops last Wednesday and agreed to rejoin the team.

With Kansas State and power-running quarterback Collin Klein set to visit Norman in two weeks, the timing couldn’t be better.

"Casey is a big part of what we do," defensive coordinator Mike Stoops said Monday. "He gives us another stout body in the middle. He's played some great football for us here, and we're excited to get him back and get him going stronger than ever."

Walker has started 12 games the last two seasons and was the projected starter going into this season after fall camp. Walker had two tackles and batted down a pass during last season’s 58-17 win against the Wildcats.

Mike Stoops said that he expects Walker to be ready to play for K-State, despite being away from football the last couple of weeks.

"He's missed a couple weeks, but he went through training camp," Mike Stoops said. "He practiced a great deal through the month of August. It shouldn't take him long to get back. We'll see where he's at.
