Oklahoma 24, Notre Dame 12
The Sooners are playing their best ball of the season, and at the perfect time. The Irish will give OU problems in the trenches, but OU's passing game with Landry Jones and his array of receivers will be the difference. If the Sooners can get to 20 points, it will be difficult for an average Notre Dame offense to keep pace, especially with the way the Sooners have been dominating defensively. I don't think the Irish get there, and that's why I'm picking OU to win.

The Sooners defense comes up big in the fourth quarter with a turnover and a key stop to protect OU's one-possession lead with less than five minutes remaining. A Michael Hunnicutt field goal puts the game away as the Sooners insert themselves back into the BCS conversation. Landry Jones is efficient with over 300 yards passing and Jalen Saunders has a breakout game with his first 100-yard receiving performance in the victory.

Is it simplifying things too much to say if Damien Williams has success, this turns into an OU rout? Because it certainly feels that way. The Irish run defense has been nothing short of spectacular, but if the Sooners can make a crack, could be a long day for Notre Dame. This can't be Williams' show alone as Dominique Whaley, Brennan Clay and Roy Finch will need to get some touches to help wear down the Irish defense. Establishing the run in the first half allows Landry Jones to relax and find his groove in the second half with a couple of touchdown passes and vault the Sooners right back into the BCS national championship race.
