GUTHRIE, Okla. -- There are six four-star prospects in the state of Oklahoma in the Class of 2014. At the end of the 2011 season, the short list of potential four-star prospects certainly would have included Guthrie (Okla.) High athlete Kai Callins.
Callins helped lead Guthrie to a Class 5A state championship with a dominating performance in the championship game as a sophomore. Oklahoma and Oklahoma State were showing huge interest, and top schools nationally were sending him letters and camp invitations.
His junior season was going to be his time to shine. And it was ... for one quarter. Callins rushed for 96 yards and two touchdowns and caught a touchdown pass when his world and recruitment were torn upside down.
