DT Maquedius Bain ready to visit Sooners

ESPN 150 defensive lineman Maquedius Bain (Davie, Fla./University School) will be taking a trip to Norman, Okla., this weekend to visit the Sooners pending some ACT paperwork.

"I just needed to get a couple of things in hand and I'll be visiting Oklahoma this weekend," Bain said. "They reached out to me back in July and I'm looking forward to the visit."

The 6-foot-3, 285-pound Bain, who committed to Florida State as a junior and re-opened his recruitment earlier in the year, appears to be leaning towards a future playing outside of the Sunshine State.

Once thought to be a heavy lean to Miami, Bain says that's no longer the case.

"I think I'm going to leave the state to play college football," Bain said. "Miami is going to be my in-state school but right now I'm only looking at out-of-state programs."

The other programs Bain is high on are LSU, Michigan State, USC and Notre Dame. He has yet to schedule anymore official visits outside of Saturday's planned trip to Oklahoma. He is planning on making a final decision at the Under Armour All-America Game in January.

Bain's teammates ESPN 150 prospect Jordan Cunningham and three-star wide receiver Dionte Taylor will also be taking official visits this weekend according to head coach Roger Harriott.

Cunningham (6-2, 185) will be taking his first official visit of the year to Oklahoma State. He will be going with University School quarterback Mike White. Cunningham is also considering Stanford, Florida State, Miami, Alabama and Notre Dame.

Taylor will be taking an official visit to Boston College. He was supposed to visit the school on Sept. 1 but pushed it back to the end of the month. Taylor is also looking at Missouri, Nebraska, Cincinnati Illinois, UCF, Louisville and several others.
