Landry Jones talks about OU-Texas

This weekend at the Red River Rivalry, the eyes of Texas will be on Oklahoma quarterback Landry Jones, who spoke to the media following Tuesday’s practice:

On the bus trip to the Cotton Bowl: “You just see your fans praising you and holding up the No. 1, and then you see the Texas fans throwing up the Horns to you. Some people might flip you off. It’s a great atmosphere driving into that place.”

On noticing the crowd: “Before the game you do. You’re looking around and you’re noticing the things that are going on. But once the game starts, you’re zoned in and ready to play.”

On the big college rivalry he paid attention to growing up: “Growing up, you had Lobos-Aggies and that stuff. But you really didn’t have a big following of those things. It’d be different if I had grown up in Los Angeles or Dallas. I guess the closest thing would be UNM and the Aggies.”
