Cornerback Stanvon Taylor (Tulsa, Okla./East Central) has reached double digits in scholarship offers with the help of a strong 36 hours occurring between all of Monday and Tuesday morning.
Taylor, a 5-foot-11, 165-pound junior cover back, picked up his eighth and ninth offers from Ole Miss and Iowa State, respectively, on Monday. His 10th offer came on Tuesday, as Arizona State extended a scholarship opportunity. Taylor has additional offers from Arkansas, Kansas State, Texas Tech, Arkansas State, Indiana, Tulsa and Utah State.
Taylor said he’s being recruited to Ole Miss by co-defensive coordinator Wesley McGriff and defensive line coach Chris Kiffin. He’s being recruited to Iowa State by receivers coach Luke Wells and to Arizona State by secondary coach Chris Ball and defensive coordinator Paul Randolph.
If everything works in his favor, offer No. 11 will come Saturday – and that offer could hold major weight in his recruiting process. Taylor this weekend is expected to visit Oklahoma, a personal, longtime favorite of his.
“It would be nice,” Taylor said of a potential Oklahoma offer. “I’d love to have that opportunity.”
Taylor said his trip to Norman, Okla., isn’t set in stone. He is supposed to run in a track and field meet on Saturday but may be able to run Friday and use Saturday for the unofficial visit.
