Oregon commits had another week of strong performances on the gridiron. Two of the Ducks' in-state commits faced off in a huge game between two of the state's best programs. In Texas, the Ducks' star recruit had a huge night as his team was tested early. In San Diego, two wide receivers had huge games in blowout wins.
As the playoffs near, the competition has been turned up and the Ducks' 11 commits are proving themselves in a big way.
Who won? Who lost? Who seems primed to make an impact next year for the Ducks?
Star(s) of the week:
Dontre Wilson, DeSoto (Texas) High School
DeSoto were in a battle until the third quarter, when Wilson took over. In Oregon-like fashion, the No. 5 athlete in the ESPN 150 had five touchdowns in an 11-minute stretch during the second half. Wilson ran for 148 yards and five touchdowns and also added four receptions for 92 yards, including a 58-yard touchdown catch.
On the season, the No. 51 player in the ESPN 150 has 764 yards and 19 touchdowns rushing, to go along with 19 catches for 395 yards and four more scores. DeSoto is now 7-0 on the season.
Tyree Robinson, San Diego (Calif.) Lincoln
The No. 273 player in the ESPN 300 had nine tackles on defense as he helped the Hornets roll to a 63-17 win over Scripps Ranch (Calif.) High School. While he was all over the field on defense, it was nothing compared to what he did as a receiver during the game. Robinson had six receptions for 157 yards, with five of them going for touchdowns.
On defense, he now has 29 tackles and three interceptions on the season. On offense, the explosive wide receiver has 14 receptions for 275 yards and seven touchdowns. Lincoln is now 5-3.
