Ducks check in with 2014 recruits

When college coaches were allowed to hit the road to visit recruits, the Oregon Ducks' coaching staff spread out all over the country to visit commits, 2013 targets and a number of 2014 prospects. With two new offers out to 2013 linebackers, the Ducks are getting aggressive as signing day approaches.

It remains to be seen if their aggressive recruiting of late will carry over to the Class of 2014, or whether the Ducks will continue their recent pattern of taking the process extremely slowly. Ducks' assistant coaches Don Pellum, Scott Frost, John Neal, Gary Campbell, Jerry Azzinaro, Tom Osborne and Mark Helfrich were all on the road checking in with rising juniors last week. They might not be handing out many offers just yet, but they are certainly doing a great job of initiating relationships. Below are some of the 2014 recruits that confirmed they were visited by members of the Oregon staff in recent weeks.

OL Kaleb McGary (Fife, Wash./Fife)

The Ducks extended an offer to the top offensive lineman in the Northwest, a 6-foot-8, 275-pound tackle who might be among the top offensive line prospects in country for the Class of 2014. McGary holds early offers from Washington, Oregon State, Utah, Washington State, Oregon and Arizona State.

OT Damien Mama (Bellflower, Calif./St. John Bosco)

A 6-foot-3, 325-pound junior, Mama holds an early offer from Colorado but likely will be one of the top offensive line targets in the west next year.

LB Dwight Williams (Gardena, Calif./Serra)

Undersized but smart and aggressive, Williams has the attention of many programs, and the Ducks are among them. Williams has high interest in the Ducks and is hoping for more attention from them. The visit by coach Pellum is a good start.

ATH Adoree' Jackson (Gardena, Calif./Serra)

One of the most dynamic two-way players in the class of 2014 has schools from around the country flocking to see him. A top cover cornerback, Jackson also is an elusive playmaker on the offensive side of the ball.

QB Jalen Greene (Gardena, Calif./Serra)

Greene could become a quarterback target for the Ducks with a strong spring and summer.

WR Jordan Morgan (Beaverton, Ore./Southridge)

Morgan is one of the top players in the state and one of the top receivers in the Northwest for 2014.

DE/TE Tyler Luatua (La Mirada, Calif./La Mirada)

The 6-foot-4, 230-pound Luatua is a member of the ESPN Watch List and already holds offers from Alabama, USC, UCLA, Michigan, Miami, Arkansas, Washington, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma and many more. He plays both defensive end and tight end for La Mirada.

WR Dallis Todd (La Mirada, Calif./La Mirada)

The 6-foot-5, 210-pound Todd combines with Luatua to form one of the most dangerous pass-catching duos in the west for the Class of 2014.

S Edwin Freeman (Arlington, Texas/Bowie)

One of the premier safeties in the country for 2014, Freeman is a member of the ESPN Watch List.

QB Will Grier (Davidson, NC/Davidson Day)

An ESPN Watch List quarterback, Grier likes Florida early on and holds offers from the Gators, East Carolina, Wake Forest, Tennessee, North Carolina and others.

LB Cameron Hampton (Dallas, Texas/Carter)

This ESPN Watch List member is among the best defenders in the state of Texas. He likes the Ducks and holds early offers from LSU, Texas, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Clemson, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, Notre Dame and many more.

QB JuJuan Lawson (Petaluma, Calif./Casa Grande)

Another ESPN Watch List quarterback, Lawson has offers from Arizona and UNLV early on. He likes Washington and Oregon.

QB Manny Wilkins (Novato, Calif./San Marin)

One of the top quarterbacks in Northern California as a junior, Wilkins is high on the Ducks and could be among their top targets at the position in 2014.
