After an impressive spring at camps across the West Coast, Alex Redmond (Los Alamitos, Calif./Los Alamitos) became a hot commodity on the recruiting trail. Once an offer came in from the Oregon Ducks, Redmond knew he didn't need to hear from any other programs.
"It just made sense. It's on the West Coast and it's close to home. They have an incredible program and it's an honor to say that I'll be a Duck" Redmond said. "I couldn't see myself anywhere else, so I decided to commit."
With schools such as Colorado, UCLA, Washington, Boston College and more coming hard after the 6-foot-5, 302-pound lineman, he let it be known that he was all set to be a Duck.
"I basically told them nicely that I made my decision and I plan to stick with it," Redmond said. "Since I made it clear, most of the schools have stopped coming after me. I still get some contact from them but I haven't been talking to any other schools."
With his mind set squarely on his future as a member of the Oregon Ducks, Redmond has his one and only official visit scheduled.
"The only official visit I'm taking is to Eugene on the weekend of Sept. 21, when they play Arizona. I could schedule others, but I'm a Duck all the way."
