With an official visit lined up for San Diego State on Dec. 21, defensive end Roosevelt Pearson (San Jacinto, Calif./Mount San Jacinto Community College) isn’t worried about signing when the mid-term period starts next week.
The 6-foot-4, 240-pound defensive end knows what he’s looking for and he has favorites in San Diego State, Oregon and Boise State, with an emphasis on the Ducks and Aztecs.
“They have a pretty good football team,” said Pearson of the Ducks. “It’s a great school from what I hear and a lot more.
“San Diego State has great coaching, a great football team and a great campus.”
The numbers Pearson was able to put up for Mount San Jacinto were good as well.
It’s why New Mexico State has joined San Diego State with an offer and why Kansas State and USC joined Oregon and Boise State with interest in the junior college standout.
Pearson finished the season with 42 tackles -- 9½ for loss -- added four sacks and two pass breakups.
“I’m hard-working and humbled,” Pearson said. “I put everything out on the practice field and in the game.
