IMG 7v7 Notebook: Patterson, Craig-Myers shine

BRADENTON, Fla. -- Top skilled position players converged from all over the country to participate at the IMG 7v7 National Championships at IMG Academy this weekend. Despite the many talented 7-on-7 teams from all over the Southeast, Fort Wayne AWP from Fort Wayne, Indiana, took home the championship trophy on Sunday.

ESPN 300 wide receiver Kyle Davis was one of many talented pass catchers on hand at over the weekend. The 37th-ranked player in the country, a former South Carolina commit, admitted he committed to the Gamecocks too early in the process and now wants to take his time with the decision-making process.

"I’m laying low with the recruiting process,” Davis said. "I made my decision too early. On top of that the recruiting process got a little bit overwhelming, so I just backed off. I haven’t really been in contact with any coaches lately; I’ve just been focusing on my school more than recruitment."

Despite telling coaches he is backing off from recruiting, Davis admits there are still schools that are pursuing him.
