The Cleveland Indians marketing department made a great move with the “what if” campaign in their commercials. It’s a nostalgic look at the past with hints of the future.
Ohio State’s future could bring a trio of linebackers from the 2014 class in Clifton Garrett (Plainfield, Ill./Plainfield South), Raekwon McMillan (Hinesville, Ga./Liberty) and Dante Booker (Akron, Ohio/St. Vincent-St. Mary).
All have Ohio State offers and all made their way to Columbus last week for the Friday Night Lights camp.
The fact none of them participated, but still came to exchange numbers and shoot the breeze was a hot topic of “what if” among fans.
McMillan’s Twitter avatar has him decked out in an O-H-I-O T-shirt. Garrett routinely mentions the Buckeyes on his Twitter account and Booker lives just 90 minutes from the Horseshoe.
Fans have caught on to the nickname “The Big Three” 2014 recruits have given themselves.
Here’s a look at what they did last year as sophomores:
Garrett: The 6-foot-2, 218-pound Garrett made 78 tackles, forced three fumbles and registered three sacks.
McMillan: At 6-foot-3 and 235 pounds, McMillan registered 97 tackles -- 20 for loss -- forced five fumbles and had a sack and interception.
Booker: The 6-foot-3, 209-pound Booker stood out with 157 tackles, 14 sacks, three fumble recoveries and four forced fumbles.
