Kenny Hayes granted release by Bucks

Kenny Hayes missed out on spring practice at Ohio State with health concerns.

There won't be a fall training camp for the second-year player either.

Hayes asked for and was granted a release by the Buckeyes on Friday, the first day of practice ahead of Urban Meyer's first season with the program. A school spokesman confirmed that the reserve defensive lineman is free to transfer anywhere he chooses.

An in-state product from Toledo, Hayes was redshirted last season and likely faced a difficult climb for playing time on a talented defensive front expected to be among the best in the nation this season. He finished his career at Whitmer High School with a senior campaign that included 47 tackles, 11 of them for a loss.
