2015 QB-DT Glover surprised by attention

Even Eric Glover (Canton, Ohio/McKinley) is flabbergasted by the attention he’s getting.

A 5-foot-10, 155-pound sophomore, the dual-threat quarterback for the Bulldogs already has the interest of Alabama, Auburn, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Syracuse and UCLA.

That’s enough to please any recruit, but for one that moved behind center from his running back position this year, it’s even more astounding.

“I’m kind of surprised,” Glover said. “I’ve been going hard, just trying to do my job and get things done. I’m still young. I’m still trying to build on what I have and go up from there. I’ve got speed. I’m pretty quick and shifty. I’ve got good vision.”

Which brings Glover to his next question. While it’s still early, he might pick up the athlete tag by the time he gets to college.

His elusiveness makes him someone that needs to be on the field at all times. His understanding makes him even more of an impact player.

“I see myself as probably a slot receiver in college,” he said. “Right now, it’s about doing whatever my high school coaches need me to do. I’m just trying to work on my passes right now and getting the timing down.”

Glover also has his head on straight and that might go far with coaches.

When asked what he needed to work on most before transitioning to college in a few years, Glover had one thing to say: “I need to stay on top of my grades and not let them slip.”
