In a recruiting week when Ohio State went after two other offensive tackles in the class of 2014, the Buckeyes added a third name to their list of hopefuls.
Alex Bars (Nashville, Tenn./Montgomery Bell) continued his streak of picking up offers when Ohio State threw its hat in the ring after another Big Ten team -- Indiana -- did the same.
The two offers joined a list that includes Duke, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi State, North Carolina, Ole Miss, Tennessee and Vanderbilt. It’s a list that most likely will keep growing for Bars.
The one thing the Buckeyes have in their favor is mutual respect from Bars, who has already visited Michigan and Tennessee and was at Notre Dame’s game against the Wolverines this weekend.
He told ESPN.com’s Southeast and East Recruiting analyst Dave Hooker he still plans on visiting Alabama, Ohio State and Vanderbilt this fall.
It might be an uphill battle to nab Bars, however, as his brother Blake Bars is a freshman offensive lineman for Michigan, while his other brother Brad Bars is a redshirt defensive end sophomore for Penn State.
The 6-foot-6, 280-pound Alex also has interest from the Crimson Tide, Michigan State, Fighting Irish and Nittany Lions.
