How OSU commits fared over weekend

Every week, Ezekiel Elliott (St. Louis/John Burroughs), seems to set a new standard. He now has 23 touchdowns on the season.

This time, the four-star running back ran for 222 yards on 12 carries and scored five rushing touchdowns in a 55-7 win over Mary Institute and St. Louis Country Day. He also added another score on a punt return.

Here’s how the other 16 Ohio State commits fared in weekend action.

J.T. Barrett: Quarterback for Rider was on a bye week.

Marcus Baugh: Returned to action after missing two weeks with a concussion and played linebacker as well in a 17-14 loss to Rancho Cucamonga.

Joey Bosa: Defensive tackle for St. Thomas Aquinas was on a bye week.

Cam Burrows: Cornerback held West Carrollton to minus-3 yards total offense in 20-0 win by Trotwood-Madison.

Tim Gardner: In game that ended after three quarters because of poor weather, offensive tackle helped Lawrence Central to 42-7 win over Bloomington South. Lawrence Central has rushed for 1,930 yards in six games this season.

Michael Hill: Defensive tackle helped Pendleton beat Blacksburg for the first time since 1984 in 17-14 overtime win.

Taivon Jacobs: Wide receiver made eight catches for 197 yards and added s touchdown in Suitland’s 41-6 win over Laurel.

Darron Lee: Threw four touchdown passes and was 5-of-8 passing for 133 yards in New Albany’s 66-14 win over Franklin Heights. Will play safety for Ohio State.

Tyquan Lewis: Defensive end/linebacker for Tarboro was on a bye week.

Evan Lisle: Offensive tackle helped Centerville rush for 446 yards and gain 496 yards total offense in 64-7 win over Greenville.

Jalin Marshall: Athlete ran 23 times for 159 yards and was 7-of-17 for 80 yards through the air in Middletown’s 34-20 loss to Lakota East. Marshall rushed for two touchdowns and threw for one more.

Billy Price: Defensive tackle held Boardman to 198 yards total offense in 52-7 win by Fitch.

Tracy Sprinkle: Defensive tackle recorded 14 tackles -- three for loss -- two sacks and six quarterback hurries in 62-55 loss to North Royalton.

Jayme Thompson: Safety recovered fumble in Toledo Central Catholic’s 56-27 win over Findlay.

Johnny Townsend: Kicker had four punts of 45 yards or more yards, with one going 65 yards in Boone’s 30-7 loss to Timber Creek.

Eli Woodard: Voorhees allowed only one passing touchdown as cornerback helped team overcome 14-point deficit in 31-20 win over Cherry Hill East.
