ESPN 300 RB Corn Elder to visit Ohio State

He said he wanted to get to Columbus for an Ohio State game and now Cornelius "Corn" Elder (Nashville, Tenn./The Ensworth School) will get his wish.

The ESPN 300 running back confirmed via text message that he’ll take in Ohio State’s Big Ten contest against Purdue on Saturday during an unofficial visit. The 5-foot-10, 170-pound four-star Elder – he’s ranked 238th overall -- has offers from 15 schools, including Iowa, Nebraska and Ohio State.

He also has an offer from UCLA and plans to go there on Nov. 16. Elder’s recruitment is a bit behind other top prospects because he didn’t take many visits during the summer because of AAU basketball. He's a standout on the basketball court as a point guard as well.

The senior rushed for 2,080 yards on 205 carries last season and scored 22 touchdowns on the ground. This season he has 1,608 yards rushing and has scored 26 times.

In basketball, Elder averaged 17 points per game and four assists, and was the Division II-AA state tournament MVP.

Right now, his football scholarship offers are better than the looks he’s getting in basketball.
